Sam Sabzevari is designer, author, and illustrator whose work moves fluidly between storytelling, spatial investigations, and visual craftsmanship. With a background in architectural engineering from the School of Fine Arts University of Tehran and a Master of Architecture from Toronto Metropolitan University, his creative practice treats architecture as a living narrative rather than a finished product. Whether through drawings, poetry, or built interventions, Sam translates complex ideas into tangible, evocative experiences. For him, curiosity comes first, and flexibility is essential to engage with the fleeting world we inhabit.

On this first 𝒫𝑜𝑒𝓉𝓇𝓎 𝒩𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 event, we will unfold the entangled life and work of Iranian poet Nima Yooshij. We will discuss how Nima broke the long-standing tradition of classical poetry by working with the material of language and imagination—evolving both form and content in ways that reshaped everything that came before him. The significance of this evolution lies in Nima’s rebellious character, marking a turning point for Iranian contemporary literature and art. He had the courage to carve a void and define a window into a new world of possibilities. Join us to witness this story of agony and ecstasy.

Throughout the session, we will flip through chapters of Nima’s life, weaving his poetry as interludes between them. Life stories, letters, and even gossip will offer glimpses into his evolving character, while his poems will open spaces for free discussion on form, content, and the traces of his footprints in what he produced. We will draw parallels between literature and art to explore how his legacy continues through generations.
The sessions will unfold with an opening, a peak of warm storytelling, and an ending of casual conversation—creating a space to hear and to be heard.
